📖 My Lexicon — Your Personal Dictionary
This is your private, offline word collection. Everything here lives in your browser and works without an internet connection.
- Add a word — Click + Add Word in the top-right corner. Fill in the spelling, definition, and origin story. Example and tags are optional.
- Browse & search — Use the search bar or click alphabet letters in the sidebar to filter your words.
- View details — Click any word to see its full entry, including origin story and example usage.
- Edit or delete — Open a word's detail view to find Edit and Delete buttons.
- Export / Import — Use the sidebar buttons to back up your library as JSON, or import words from a file.
🌐 Community — Share & Discover
The community is a shared space where users publish their invented words and the stories behind them.
- Publish a word — From any word's detail view in My Lexicon, click Publish. A modal lets you customize the version others will see — your offline copy stays unchanged.
- Browse community — Switch to the Community tab to see terms published by all users, sorted by resonance.
- Filter by tag — Use the tag buttons in the sidebar to narrow down community terms.
- Search — Type in the community search bar to find terms by word, definition, or origin.
✦ Interactions
When viewing a community term, you can interact in three ways:
- ✦ Resonate — Press this if the word or its story moves you. The count is visible to everyone. Click again to un-resonate.
- + Add a Story — Share a personal experience related to the word. Your story is sent to the word's publisher for review before it appears publicly.
- ↓ Download — Copy the term into your personal offline library.
📬 Pending Stories
If you've published words and someone submits a story, it appears in the Pending tab. You can approve stories to display them under your term, or reject them.
⌨ Keyboard Shortcuts
- Ctrl/⌘ + K — Focus the search bar
- Esc — Go back / close modals
💡 Good to Know
- Your personal lexicon works completely offline — no account or internet needed.
- Community features (publish, resonate, stories) require an internet connection.
- Same-spelling words by different authors appear as separate entries in the community.
- Your display name is chosen on first visit and stored locally.
